How can search engine optimization help my site?

How can search engine optimization help my site?
Also known as SEO can help your site in many ways! All website design companies should be optimizing your website at least to make to SEO friendly; in our experience and knowledge this basic Search Engine Optimising should be included in the fee for your website design.
However! Most companies don’t do this! They want you to pay for any small change in to make it SEO friendly and rank higher in Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines! This is a very costs procedure as many others charge from $1,000- $10,000 per month! Don’t get into this poor circle, always remember to ask your website design company if they make it basic for Search engines! If not I would recommend moving on to another website design company even if it costs you’re a little bit more.
Back to the main topic of, if search engine optimization can help my site, YES it can. This is a factor of creating your website in order for the search engine to be able to index it or not.
Indexing is getting ‘listed’ in the search engine. An un-indexed site isn’t able to be seen in the search engine.
The more pages your website has, the ways you can be found in the search engine. For example, if your website is 150 pages and 80 pages are indexed, well then there are 70 pages waiting to get indexed or was rejected by the search engine/s. visit our seo designed websites
One way you can speed up the way to get more pages indexed faster is by being more active your website, as in update your content on your page or using a Sitemap so that when a Search Engine Spider is viewing your website, it reads the Sitemap file and it sees all the pages your website has, and Cross checks it with what it can access to see if it all works.
If success then the search engine recommends your site if it was successful then the search engine won’t be too happy when it comes back to check back next time!
Keeping a website design simple may looks great and works perfectly fine, but the search engine may not like it!
As a web designer, we like to design great looking websites especially ones that meet search engine requirements, that is what we do at our website design company.

How to add a shopping cart to your website?

How to add a shopping cart to your website?

This can be simply done with a drag and drop method. All it takes is 3 simple methods.

1. You will need a Shopping Cart. There are many shopping carts out there.
Just go to your favourite search engine, hit in “free ecommerce shopping cart software
Just save the folder onto the desktop.

2. Now that we have a Shopping Cart, We need a Host. The Host is where, your shopping cart or your website will be viewed?
There a Free hosting available out there, so go back to your favourite search engine, hit in “free website hosting”, make an account and remember those details, or write them down to a file.

3. Now that we have a free hosting account, we need a FTP (File Transfer Protocol), this is a program to connect to your hosting account. Now again head back to your most trusted search engine, key in “FTP”, download a version that’s suitable for your computer. Once installed, open the program. It will write (usually at the top), host, username, password, port.
Now go back to where your hosting details are, and type in as follows, host, username, password and the port you don’t have to worry about usually, but the default number is 21 or 22.

Now if you haven’t connected, then retry the host, username, password and post. If you keep getting nothing or an error, contact your host.

It you’re connected (CONGRATS! Well done! Don’t worry, you’re nearly finished!) Once connected, usually there are 2 square boxes! On the left box are the files that are on your computer and on the right box are the file in your web hosting account for your website.
There will already be a list of files in your web hosting account. All you have to do is look for a folder called. “public_html”, this folder is the root location for your website.

Drag and Drop your shopping cart files into this folder, it may take long depending on how many files your shopping cart has.
Wait for it to finish and once done, visit your URL of your web hosting, and it should come up as a install.
Follow the prompts and youll have a shopping cart online!

How to create a website?

How to create a website?

In order to create a website, you need to know what a website is made out of. To do this.

If you’re using Internet Explorer, right click on the background (preferably where there’s no text or images) and select “View Source”. You can also do this by Click “view” on the top toolbar and clicking “Source”, either way it gets to the same spot.

If you’re using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, right click on the background (preferably where there’s no text or images) and select “View Source”. Otherwise you can hit “Ctrl” + “U”. This is a shortcut to view the code.

Now that you have the website code up in front of you, it may look like a bunch random characters, you may understand some words if not none.
Most of the code you will see is called a HTML (Hyper Text Mark-Up Language). Websites are mainly coded in this but there are many other web programming languages. You can learn HTML from W3Schools.

To make a website look stylish and easy-to-use, it takes time and effort but also knowledge and experience. So be patience if you’re looking to get become a Web Designer!

What is Ecommerce?

What is Ecommerce?

The E in Ecommerce means Electronic. Meaning simply electronic commerce.
Electronic Commerce also known as shopping online. Buying and Selling goods and services.

It is one of the most popular ways to get your business known and keep reoccurring customers. It is faster, safe (to an extent) and for some, it may also be cheaper!

Due to the modern technological age we live in today, our internet speeds can load up a page, ready to go under a second. We can search the website, if it has the function and we can look for it under the appropriate category, unlike trying to find the product or service in the shop then paying for it. Most Ecommerce website designs today, have a checkout installed with a credit card function for quick payment processing. Unless you use online banking system, like PayPal, Western Union.

Some may disagree some may not, but it sharing your valuable information, like your credit card, may result in you getting scammed or recorded to be used for the attacker’s purposes’. The internet is never 100% secure. So always be careful where you enter your credentials or what website you visit, there’s always an attacker out there waiting for you.

It is cheaper than retail or even warehouses due to not having a middle man. Usually the products you buy will come straight from the manufacturer which means no other costs involved, maybe only the shipping. Most people now days shop online to grab great bargains off websites like Ebay, Craiglist, Gumtree.

How to choose a web design company?

How to choose a web design company?

This question may be puzzling you? Who am I going to choose? What are my options? Where do I stand? No worries, below your questions can be answered in a little depth to help make a decision you won’t regret.
This question has a few factors involved around it. Cost, Appearance and Designer.

First of all, Cost.

If your happy to spend a little bit more than your budget, you’re most likely to get what you want. Spend less and not get what your money’s worth.
Due to some circumstances, yes money can be an issue, but if it’s going to be a website you love and your customers keep returning back to it, then it will be an investment. We must always weigh our options to see how it pans out.

Second, Appearance.

Of course appearance has a lot to do with attracting your customers to go with you or to choose your competition. Just like hiring a person for the job. You want the right person, but who can do it more effectively and efficient? Person A? or Person B?

Third, Designer.

Well we’ve come to the gold nugget. The one or who can solve your website needs.
Some may disagree and some may not but actually the Designer is the one why people choose that company to create their website. Even if you have a budget or the designer’s portfolio is your liking, once that make you feel comfortable you’d prefer them, instead of a designer, that just wants your money and do the design.

Usually the golden rule is for any customer. Portfolio > Cost > Website.
Meaning if they’re portfolio is excellent, the cost is worth it for their website.

I should start out by saying, Facebook is the biggest, fastest and most popular social media tool in today. It overtook MySpace, which had been around before and will keep overtaking any newer social media networks.
It is a great way to keep in touch with long lost friends or family. As of July 15, 2009, "Facebook is now connecting 250 million people around the world", Mark Zuckerberg said.

Today on Facebook, you can advertise nearly anything. From Businesses to Cars.

Flash vs HTML - Which is better?

Theres always been a battle between the 2. But which is better?

Flash is mainly used for creating animation, with high quality graphics. But when it comes to search engines, its not so great.
HTML on the other hand, isn't at all good for animation, unless you slice up a stream on photos on Photoshop and create a .gif file, but its still not as great a flash animation, as the photo quality is reduced.

Flash
Pros:
  • Supports audio, animation, and advanced interactivity.
  • Relatively easy to learn, as it provides a designer-friendly authoring environment. However, it requires a good understanding of computer graphics, and the advanced features require familiarity with programming or scripting techniques.
  • Integrates well with other Web technologies.
  • Is bandwidth efficient.
  • Is widely used. This means that most visitors to a Web page incorporating a Flash animation will be able to view it without downloading and installing the Player application. (In fact, probably 96% of Web users already have Flash Player installed .)
Cons:
  • Encourages design abuse,
  • breaks Web fundamentals, and
  • distracts from a site's core values.
  • This is also why our Website Design doesnt have Flash :)
 HTML
Pros:
  • View able by web browser
  • best support of assisting technology
  • most accessible solutions when done correctly
  • can partially automate compliance checking
Cons:
  • cant easily search entire presentation
  • requires working knowledge of HTML or HTML editing software.

Web Designs and Questions

Always ask the client some basic questions before progressing any further just to get your head around the objective.

For example:
  • Do you current have a website already on the internet? URL?
  • What time frame would you like the website up by or needed up by?
  • Any examples of layouts you have in mind?
  • What many features will your site include?
  • Target. Who? Age?
  • What are other competitors failing at on they're sites which you wont?
These questions are just to get your head around the primary objective and good in a good position before creating the website.

The next questions you should ask the client is mainly about how they're website design would like to look. More of the graphics side.

Kinds Regards to all starting out. Hang in there!
